SUMMARY
Herbaceous hemicryptophyte, <200cm tall. Stem <6mm diameter, green to purple; glabrous to white arachnoid with multicellular hairs. Lamina 75.1-182 x 87.8-200.3mm, suborbiculate to cordate; margin dentate to undulating or lobed; apex acute to acuminate; base cordate; petiolar sinus depth <0.3 x the lamina length; apex acute to acuminate; abaxial indumentum sparse to dense white to grey, sometimes light purple towards the veins lanate, with sparse to dense filiform hairs and sparse thick, multicellular hairs mostly along the veins; adaxial indumentum with sparse white filiform hairs and very sparse stiff whitish multicellular conical hairs, that are thinner than the multicellular hairs on the abaxial indumentum, mostly along the veins. Petiole 0.5-1.5 x the lamina length, green to light purple, glabrous, sometimes appendiculata and sometimes auriculate. Auricles, when present, <0.5 x the petiole length, but can be >0.5 x the length of the petiole and extending along the entire petiole length, margin entire denticulate to undulating; abaxial indumentum like the abaxial lamina; adaxial surface glabrous, dark green. Appendages, when present, <8, 0.3-4.1 x 0.1-1.9mm, basal on the petiole, ovate to lanceolate, almost sessile, margin denticulate, indumentum like the auricle. Inflorescence terminal, branched corymbose cymes, peduncles green-purple often with sparse to dense white filiform hairs and usually with sparse to dense conical white to purple scales, 0.02-0.7mm long; inflorescence bracts lanceolate to filiform, green to purple, white to purple arachnoid. Capitulae 10-40, 3.7-5.5 x 2.5-3.8mm, more or less urceolate; phyllary bracts 2.1-3.8 x 0.69-0.97mm, green to purple becoming dark purplish at the apex, sometimes glabrous, often with multicellular erect conical purple scales <13, 0.1-0.3mm long, usually restricted to base. Ray florets 12-13, ligules 3.6-7.2 x 1.4-2.8mm, narrow to lanceolate, adaxial limb surface pure white, cream, pink or purple, within the same population and even individual, often mature ligules becoming dark pink to purple, abaxial limb surface paler; corolla-tube 1.5-2.49mm long, pink to light purplish. Disc florets cream to yellow, tube 2.7-4mm long, lobes <0.5mm long, acuminate. Ray cypselae 0.91-1.55 x 0.12-0.35mm, apapilose, oblong, slightly compressed, light brown; ridges 5-7, glabrous; furrows glabrous. Disc cypselae 1.11-1.81 x 0.22-0.38mm, papilose, oblong, cylindrical, light brown; ridges 6-9, glabrous; furrows densely filled with rows of white thick ovate to lanceolate hairs 0.08-0.17 mm long.
