Diagnosis:
Bounded in the east by “the Central Highlands and the drier regions of the Simpson Desert [and the western margin of the Great Dividing Range]. The southern distributions of species are limited by the Darling River or areas of mallee vegetation” (Cracraft 1991: 214).
Type-locality:
Nappa Merrie Breakaways, Queensland, Australia, 27°23'7.24"S 141° 9'51.81"E.
Cracraft’s original diagnosis overlaps the Eastern Desert with the western margin of Eastern Queensland as it extends into “the uplands of the Great Dividing Range”. While this is not clear in his original map, it does conflict in his diagnosis, which is herein amended.
