SUMMARY
Woody hemicryptophyte/nanophanerophyte up to 4m tall. Stem <8mm diameter, green to brown to straw-like colour in mature plants; glabrous. Rhizomes glabrous, creeping, usually subaerial, ligneous, up to 250mm long, branching, and maliable often climbing up branches of trees. Lamina 54.75-83.72 x 44.78-59.64mm, green, juvenile plants with subcuneate leaves; mature plants with subcordate to deltoid leaves; margin denticulate to serrate; apex obtuse to subacuminate; base obtuse; petiolar sinus usually wide and shallow, depth <0.2 x the lamina length; glabrous or with sparse white thick conical hairs. Petiole <0.5-1 x the lamina length, greenish to brownish, glabrous, exappendiculate and exauriculate. Infloresence terminal, dense, branched corymbose cymes, peduncles purplish, glabrous; inflorescence bracts lanceolate to filiform, green to purple, glabrous. Capitulae 25-50, 2.13-3.11 x 2.28-3.95mm, urceolate; phyllary bracts 2.03-2.13 x 0.65-0.95mm, light brown to green becoming dark purple at the apex, usually glabrous. Ray florets 7-10, ligules 4.12-4.98 x 1.84-2.22mm, broadly ovate to lanceolate, light pink; corolla-tube 3.18-4.55mm long, pink. Disc florets pink, tube 4.65-5.12mm long, lobes <0.5 mm long, acuminate. Ray cypselae 0.44-0.75 x 0.09-0.14mm, papilose, narrow, cylindrical, light to dark brown; ridges 6-9, glabrous; furrows glabrous or with sparse slender white hairs, 0.08-0.12mm long. Disc cypselae 0.47-1.1 x 0.09-0.14mm, papilose, cylindrical, light to dark brown; ridges 6-8, furrows sparsely to densely filled with slender white hairs, 0.08-0.17mm long.
