SUMMARY
Herbaceous hemicryptophyte, <130cm tall. Stem <6mm diameter, green to purple; glabrous to dense white arachnoid (in smaller plants) with white multicellular hairs. Lamina 70.19-111.17-85.8-129.1mm, basal leaves deltoid to cordate; cauline leaves deltoid to sagittate; margins dentate to undulating; apex acute to acuminate; base cordate, petiolar sinus often wide and shallow, <0.2 x the lamina length; apex acute to acuminate; abaxial indumentum sparse to dense white arachnoid, with sparse to dense filiform hairs and sparse, thick multicellular hairs, mostly along the veins; adaxial indumentum sparse white arachnoid, with sparse filiform hairs and very sparse multicellular conical hairs, which are thinner than the multicellular hairs of the abaxial indumentum, mostly along the veins. Petiole 0.3-1 x the lamina length, greenish to light purplish, glabrous, sometimes appendiculata and sometimes auriculate. Auricles, when present, <0.5 x the petiole length, margin denticulate; indumentum similar to the lamina. Appendages, when present, <10, 0.3-4.8 x 0.1-1.9mm, usually at the top of the petiole, ovate to lanceolate, almost sessile, margin denticulate, indumentum like the lamina. Infloresence terminal, lax, branched corymbose cymes, peduncles light to dark purple, glabrous; inflorescence bracts lanceolate to filiform, green to purple. Capitulae 10-38, 4.2-6.7 x 3.8-5.5mm urceolate; phyllary bracts 2.1-3.2 x 4.15-6.84mm, caniculate, green to purple becoming dark purple at the apex always with multicellular erect conical purple scales covering the entire surface, 13<, <1.1mm long. Ray florets (10-)12-13(-18), ligules 5.3-11.83 x 1.54-4.39mm, ovate to lanceolate, adaxial limb surface pink or light purple, abaxial limb surface paler to white; corolla tube 1.53-3.98mm long, pink to light purple. Disc florets cream to yellow, tube 2.11-3.72mm long, lobes <0.9mm long, acuminate. Ray cypselae 0.8-1.7 x 0.5-0.76mm, apapilose, oblong, slightly compressed, dark brown; ridges 5-9, glabrous; furrows glabrous. Disc cypselae 0.7-1.55 x 0.4-0.77mm, papilose oblong, cylindrical, light brown; ridges 7-9, glabrous; furrows densely filled with rows of white thick ovate to lanceolate hairs 0.05-0.09 mm long.
