SUMMARY
Nanophanerophyte, up to 150cm tall. Stems woody, <6mm diameter, green to light purple, white lanate with dense filiform hairs when young, glabrescent when mature. Leaves 47-103 x 49-124mm; lamina dark green, cordate, ovate or lanceolate; margins dentate slightly angled or undulating, margin lobe depth <4mm; apex acute to long-acuminate; base cordate to obtuse; petiolar sinus depth <0.4 x the lamina length; abaxial indumentum dense white lanate with filiform hairs; adaxial surface glabrous or with sparse filiform hairs and sometimes with sparse multicellular hairs mostly along the veins. Petiole 0.3-0.8 x the lamina length, green to purple, white lanate, sometimes auriculate and sometimes appendiculate; auricles, when present, <0.3 x the petiole length; margins entire to denticulate; abaxial indumentum like the abaxial leaf lamina; adaxial surface glabrous, dark green; appendages, when present, <12, 1.8-6.7 x 0.9-5.9mm, ovate, sessile or petiolate; margins denticulate; indumenta like the lamina. Inflorescence terminal, branched corymb-paniculate; peduncles green to purple, white lanate; inflorescence bracts lanceolate to filiform, green to purple; indumentum like the abaxial leaf lamina. Capitula <35, 3.2-7.3 x 3.1-7.3mm, urceolate; phyllary bracts 2.8-6.2 x 0.3-1.5mm, ovate to lanceolate, green to purple, glabrous or with <15 multicellular small green to purple echinules <0.05mm long. Ray florets 12-15; ligules 4.5-7.8 x 1.5-3.4mm, oblong to ovate, slightly pink (‘flesh coloured’), or cream to white; corolla-tube 3.7-5.2mm, cream to white. Disc florets white to light yellow, sometimes light pink; tube 3.87-6.4mm long; lobes up to 0.4mm long, acuminate. Ray cypselae 0.9-1.8 x 0.4-0.8 mm, papilose, cylindrical, dark brown; ridges 6-9; furrows glabrous. Disc cypselae 1.1-1.8 x 0.1-0.8mm, papilose, cylindrical, expanded slightly at the apex, usually lighter brown than the ray cypselae; ridges 7-10; furrows glabrous.
